Memento Mori
Charlie Evans spent his days with other people’s people. There was always a smile to capture, or a frown, or someone’s recently departed child. What he wanted, of course, was to capture his own people. To position his wife and child with the same attention he used to fit other people’s people within his frame. He would ask his wife to tilt her head slightly to the left. He would ask his son to lift his chin. Perfect, he’d say as he set the timer and settled into the scene, an arm around each. Now we simply hold this pose indefinitely. Words by BJ Hollars. Audio narration by Ken Szymanski. Audio recording by Scott Morfitt. |
